Theme: “The Church as an Agent of Peacemaker”

Said an agent is a person who act on behalf of another person or group or given authority on behalf of an organization or the person concerned.

The Church according to Rev. Timothy,is the agent of God , to be the agent of God,you must be holy and follow God’s instructions and your spiritual life must be sound before you will qualify to be a peacemaker.

He gave five reasons why the Church Should be the Agent of Peacemaker.

First, The Church represents Christ in the world according tothe book of John 14:25,the Church should pursue reconciliation within and in the society.

There must be justice in the Church.

Reverend Mwan further stressed that there must be Justice in the Church, because where there is Justice, there will be peace and that’s exactly what Nigeria needs today and if Justice prevails today in Nigeria, everything will change for good.

The second reason is that the Church should live in Peace with one another, Romans 12:16-18.

The Reverend decried Tribalism, Conflicts and hatred as the banes of Development in COCIN,he also read from the book of Matthew 3:24-25,if the Kingdom or House that is divided against itself, cannot stand.Romans 12:19, Ephesians 4:32.

Thirdly, the Church should be the light of the world.

In the Book of Mathew 5:14-16,John 5:13,we are in the world but we are not of the world.

Fourthly,Church should be exemplary in sustaining peace in the Community 1 Thessalonians 1:7,1 Peter 2:21, we are letters that people read us.

The fifth is that the Church should love one another Base on the Book of John 12:35,1 John 4:7-8,1John 4:19-20.
