President Tinubu’s leadership has once again proven to be grounded in pragmatic solutions to Nigeria’s energy challenges. Approving this refinery underscores his commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s oil resources for the collective good, especially at a time when the country seeks to reduce dependency on imported petroleum products.

The establishment of a refinery in Imode Town Ughelli South LGA is a testament to his administration’s resolve to ensure that oil-producing regions reap the benefits of their natural endowments. This is not just a project; it is a beacon of hope for the people of Ughelli South LGA and the Niger Delta as a whole.

Economic Transformation for Ughelli South and Beyond
The refinery’s establishment will serve as a catalyst for the economic transformation of Ughelli South. From the construction phase to full operational capacity, thousands of direct and indirect jobs will be created, reducing unemployment and empowering the youth. Local businesses, contractors, and suppliers stand to benefit from the influx of investment, while surrounding communities will experience a surge in economic activity.

Beyond local impacts, the refinery will contribute significantly to Nigeria’s GDP and foreign exchange reserves, as it will reduce the importation of refined petroleum products while boosting export potential.

Enhancing Energy Security
Nigeria has long faced challenges in meeting domestic demand for refined petroleum products. This new refinery at lmode will help bridge that gap, ensuring a stable supply of fuel, kerosene, diesel, and other derivatives. With Delta State strategically located as an oil-rich region, Imode is an ideal location for such a project, which will also reduce logistics costs associated with transporting crude and refined products.

Improved Infrastructure and Development
The ripple multiplier effects of this refinery’s establishment will extend beyond the oil and gas sector. Roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and other critical infrastructure in Ughelli South and its environs are expected to see significant improvements. This project aligns with the federal government’s agenda of inclusive development, providing a tangible example of its impact on grassroots communities.

Commendation of Stakeholders
While we commend President Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to national development, we also extend our gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and other agencies involved in conceptualizing and facilitating this project at lmode.

We also recognize the contributions of the Award winning Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his proactive support in ensuring that Delta State continues to attract investments that benefit its people through the instrumentality of the MORE AGENDA. His administration’s emphasis on peace, security, and development has undoubtedly created an enabling environment for such transformative initiatives. Governor Oborevwori has done well for creating the enabling environment for which a Refinery Project can thrive in Imode Community. MR PROJECT we cannot thank you enough .

Additionally, we appreciate the traditional ruler HRM Matthew Egbi Ohwahwa 11, the Okobaro of Ughwievwen Kingdom, Community leaders, and youth groups in Ughelli South for their cooperation and advocacy, which contributed one way or the other in bringing this vision to fruition. Their commitment to peaceful coexistence and partnership with investors will be instrumental in ensuring the refinery’s long-term success in lmode Community.

A Call for Collaboration
As this refinery project takes shape, we call on all stakeholders—federal and state governments, private investors, host communities, and regulatory agencies—to collaborate harmoniously. The success of this project depends on our collective efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to environmental standards.

Host communities must be adequately engaged and involved in the decision-making process, while the government and investors must honor their commitments to corporate social responsibility (CSR). This partnership will guarantee the sustainability of the project and its benefits for generations to come.

A Brighter Future for Delta State and Nigeria
The establishment of a Refinery at Imode Town , Ughelli South LGA is more than an economic project; it is a symbol of hope and progress. It reinforces the belief that Nigeria’s oil wealth can be harnessed to uplift its people and drive sustainable development.

President Tinubu’s visionary decision has set the stage for a new era of prosperity in Delta State and the Niger Delta region. For this, we, the people of lmode Community, Ughwievwen Kingdom, Delta State, remain eternally grateful.

In conclusion, as we celebrate this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting this project and ensuring that it achieves its objectives. Together, we look forward to witnessing Imode emerge as a hub of industrial and economic activities, driving growth and prosperity for all Nigerians.

Thank you, President Tinubu, for this extraordinary gift of development. Delta State salute you, Ughelli South salute you Ughwievwen Kingdom salute you, Ukpedi People salute you, Imode Community Salute you.
