Reverse Your Draconian and Anti Citizens Policies or Face the consequences.

It was a moment of sorrow and grief as the citizens in Plateau state under the umbrella of the Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress join others across the country to protest against the removal of fuel subsidy by the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and hardship face by the Nigerian citizens.

The Protest took place with a procession from the Secretariat Junction to the Federal Secretariat and State Secretariat Complexes where various leaders took turn to address the workers and other citizens of the state that grace the rally.

Comrade Christ Piwuna, the National Vice president of the Academic Union of Nigerian Universities, said the protest is very peaceful but they cannot guarantee peace after today if Government continues to lead us into our graves and we can only guaranteed peace today,as it is now,we cannot send our children to school.

Piwuna said that just within the period of two months, the price of petrol has moved from one hundred naira to over six hundred naira and the same Government that told us that it has been deregulated and if it is true, the price of petrol in Jos should be different from Yola,Lagos and other places but the deregulator here is Government ,we elected them to lead us but they are now leading us to our graves and we will not take it until they fix our refineries and until these draconian, Undemocratic and ill conceived anti citizens policies are reverse.

We cannot assure them of peace in this country anymore,if they will not allow us to sleep, they will not equally sleep.

The Plateau state Commissioner of Police,Flanked by the other senior officers also salute the Protesters for their peaceful nature.

The C P said as the number one Police officer in Plateau state im here to share with you people and remember it is your right to protest and ensure it is peaceful because we don’t want the fragile peace we enjoy in the state to be tempered with and less all join hands together and ensure that Plateau is peaceful.

He said that he has taken notes of all what they have said.

The Police are working day and night to ensure everybody sleep with his two eyes close.

The Leader of the Coalition of the civil societies in the state.

Steve Aluko called for a minute silence in honour of those that loss their lives as a result of bad government in the country.

Said he is not happy to be present at the rally because of the situation in the country.

During Campaigns, they told us they have prepared for governance more than 30 years and promised hope.

He ask whether there is hope now in the country.

Democracy that does not fixed refineries,Welfare and protect the lives of citizens, is that Democracy?

If they fooled themselves, can we also fool ourselves?.

We should not over thank the police because they are also part of us since their promotions and entitlements is not done as when due and we visit the same markets and Hospitals.

Aluko said if Government policies are anti masses, they have no option than to rise against the government.

If the National Assembly that is less than 500 can take 70 billion naira, Judiciary 35 billion .

If I tell you what the presidency and the state governors will take, you will runaway and that’s why we must live and not only for today but to secure the future for our children.

In his part, the TUC Chairman, Comrade Caleb Shamah said they plan to truncate this peaceful protest but we are so organized and we are just fighting for social justice.

We have since gone beyond equal rights because they refused to us equal rights.

I want to appeal to Government to adhere to the principles of collective bargaining in the interest of peace and tranquility and this protest is for the masses who have been sorforcated for long and still being sorforcated. Everyone should breath equally.

The NLC Chairman,Eugene Manji said the masses created the wealth of the nation but those that are in government are stealing it and we still have the capacity to take back the power we entrusted on them.

The protest witness massive turn out with different banners and placards with various inscriptions.
