Rt. Hon. Kolawole Celebrates Elder GT Aliu at 70, Hails Legacy of Service

By Akin Fanodun-Kabba

The immediate past Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Olushola Kolawole (popularly known as Yomikola), has extended heartfelt congratulations to Elder Aliu Gabriel Toba on the joyous occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.

Elder GT Aliu, a retired Deputy Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, is celebrated not only for his distinguished public service career but also for his stature as a respected elder statesman and community leader. Rt. Hon. Kolawole described Elder Aliu as “an uncle, a mentor, and a man of remarkable integrity whose legacy continues to inspire the younger generation.”

Both Elder Aliu and Rt. Hon. Kolawole hail from the same community, local government, and state, Kogi State. This shared heritage strengthens the significance of the tribute, reflecting the deep personal and communal bonds that unite them.

“Elder Aliu has been a pillar in our community,” Kolawole remarked. “His dedication to national service, coupled with his commitment to grassroots development, sets a standard for excellence and patriotism. It is with great pride and gratitude that we celebrate this milestone with him.”

The former Speaker also used the occasion to call on younger generations to emulate the values that define Elder Aliu’s life discipline, humility, service, and leadership.

He noted that reaching the age of 70 with such a legacy is not just a personal milestone, but a celebration for the entire Kogi State.

As friends, family, and colleagues join in honoring Elder GT Aliu, Rt. Hon. Kolawole offered prayers for continued health, strength, and fulfillment in the years to come.
