Rt. Hon. Matthew Olusola Kolawole Felicitates with Kogi State at 34
As Kogi State marks her 34th anniversary today, August 27, 2025, I, Rt. Hon. Matthew Olusola Kolawole, the immediate past Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, join millions of proud Kogites in celebrating this remarkable milestone in our collective journey as a people.
Since its creation in 1991, Kogi has remained a land richly blessed with natural resources, cultural diversity, and human capital. The past three decades have been defined by challenges and triumphs, yet our resilience as a people continues to strengthen the unity and progress of the Confluence State.
It is important to acknowledge the transformative leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, who through his New Direction Agenda laid a solid foundation in security, education, health, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. His legacy of courage and inclusive governance continues to inspire the state.

Equally, we must commend the visionary leadership of the current Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who has taken the mantle of responsibility with renewed zeal and commitment to building upon the gains of his predecessor. His focus on continuity and development is a clear testimony of his determination to move Kogi State to greater heights.
As we celebrate 34 years of existence, I pray for peace, prosperity, and unity among all Kogites. May the blessings of Almighty God rest upon our leaders and our people. May Kogi State continue to shine as a beacon of strength and hope in Nigeria.
