Scholarship Boost for ESUT Student Onuigbo Destiny Chimdidu as Dr. Raph Ezeoma Foundation Extends Lifeline to Indigent Scholars.
A student of Enugu State University of Science and Technology studying Mechatronics Engineering, Miss Onuigbo Destiny Chimdidu, has been awarded a full academic scholarship by the Dr. Raph Ezeoma Foundation, a philanthropic initiative established to support indigent students from Nachi community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The foundation, instituted by renowned humanitarian and philanthropist Dr. Raph Ezeoma, focuses on empowering academically promising but financially disadvantaged students pursuing core professional disciplines such as Medicine, Engineering, and Law.
Speaking during the award presentation ceremony, the Chairman of the Foundation’s Award Screening Committee, Barr. (Dr) Chris Igbokwe, emphasized that the initiative was designed to ensure that no child is denied the opportunity to achieve their academic aspirations due to financial constraints.
He noted that Dr. Raph Ezeoma has sustained the scholarship program over the years, covering beneficiaries from their first year (100 Level) through to graduation.
Earlier in the month, six beneficiaries had already received their awards, with Miss Onuigbo Destiny Chimdidu emerging as the final recipient for this 2025/2026 cycle. Her award was formally presented at a ceremony presided over by Barr. (Dr) Chris Igbokwe and attended by other members of the screening committee.
During the presentation, Dr. (Mrs) Chinwe Agu, a member of the committee, handed over the scholarship cheque and encouraged the beneficiary to one day extend similar acts of kindness to others, reminding her of the importance of giving back to society.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. James Eze urged Miss Onuigbo to remain focused on her studies and strive for academic excellence, expressing confidence that she would make the foundation and her community proud.
An emotional Miss Onuigbo Destiny Chimdidu expressed profound gratitude to the foundation for the life-changing opportunity, describing the gesture as a major boost to her academic journey.
Her mother, Dr. Engr. Chika Onuigbo, also conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the foundation, assuring that her daughter would uphold the values of excellence and integrity, and serve as a worthy ambassador of both the foundation and the Nachi community.
The Dr. Raph Ezeoma Foundation continues to stand as a beacon of hope for indigent students, reaffirming its commitment to educational empowerment and community development.
