SCORECARD OF MY PAST ONE YEAR IN OFFICE AS A SENATOR- Sen. Engr. Ken Eze FNSE, FNATE
On assumption of duty as a Senator, I indeed quickly hit the ground rolling towards effective and quality representation of the people, not minding the legal distractions that trailed my electoral victory from the Tribunal to the Court of Appeal. And so far so good, I have indeed made significant impact in representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Abuja.
My series of appointment at the Senate, even as a first timer include Senate Committee Chairman, Vice Chairman, Member of several key Senate Committees, and National Treasure of Southern Nigeria Senators Forum. And for the records, below are details of my Senate Committees:

As a Senator, I have at different occasions got nominated to lead powerful Nigeria delegations abroad for serious official engagements. For instance, I led Nigerian delegation to the United Kingdom to understudy the world leading broadcasting industries, towards finalizing and implementing full digitalization of Nigeria Broadcasting Industry in line with global standard and best practices.I also formed part of Nigeria delegation to Rwanda for a global summit on maximizing the potential of Nigeria’s oil sector. And again as your Senator, I led a delegation of African Legislators to a parliamentary meeting of 10th World Water Forum held recently in Bali, Indonesia.
Also, I am not left out on the floor of the Nigeria Senate, as I have constructively moved many notable motions and sponsored several sensitive bills, some of which include;
1. Bill for an Act to establish Federal Polytechnic Onueke 2023.
2. Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact NBC Act 2024.
3. Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact Nigerian Press Council Act 2024
4. Bill to establish National Eye Centre.
5. Bill for Price Control Amendment Act to suit the present Day Economy
6. Bill for an act to establish National Internship and Unemployment Benefits Scheme 2024.
7. Sponsored a motion to investigate the Activities of Electricity Distribution Companies across the country.
8. Co-sponsored a motion for an urgent need to balance Geo-political Representation in the ministerial appointment.
9. Co-sponsored a motion for urgent need to withdraw from schools the book “Fundamental of Civic Education for Basic 8 (Jss 2)”
10. Sponsored a motion for inclusion of the construction of Ezzagu Ebonyi State /Amagunze Enugu State road, in the 2024 budget.
11. Co-sponsored a motion on the poor state of road infrastructure and menace of gully erosion in Nigeria.
12. Co-sponsored a motion condemning the disruptive nature of sit-at-home demonstration in the South-East of Nigeria.
13. Co-sponsored a motion on urgent need to historically investigate the disbursement of loans by Development Bank of Nigeria, NIIRSAL and related banks to Micro, Small and Medium scale enterprise (MSMEs) in Nigeria from 2015 to 2023.
14. Co-sponsored a motion on the Urgent need to investigate alleged incidences pf corruption and inefficiency at the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited and National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO) located in Kogi State.

Some of the Federal establishments where these jobs are secured include; NTA, NBC, FIRSC, FUNAI, EBSU, Federal College of Technology Isu and Federal Civil Service Commission.
*Other Areas of Achievements:*
1. I also in a bid to further create jobs for our teeming unemployed youths, appointed and regularly pays over 50 Aides outside the statutory Legislative Aides officially attached to my office by National Assembly Service Commission.
2. I made Payment of 2024 WAEC registration fees for over 300 indigent students who were unable to register for the said examination due to lack of fund, and were at the verge of dropping out of school.
3. I regularly pays school fees for over 200 undergraduates who are under my Education Foundation Payroll.
4. I embarks on routine hospital visitation and randomly off-sets hospital bills for the less privileges especially the widows and orphans.
5. I have severally given out financial assistance and grants to so many elders, youths, market women and small scale business owners across Ebonyi Central Senatorial District.
6. I have on the ground of social amenities, restoration electricity light in some villages, install solar street light in some Communities, and drilled boreholes at different locations across the Local Government Area of the Senatorial District.
7. I have remained consistent in the sponsorship of peace and unity advocacy among the people.
8. I have concluded plan for the official flag-off of Senator Ken Eze Medical Outreach in Ebonyi Central Zone, to holistic address the health challenges of our people, especially the rural dwellers. The official flag-off is scheduled to hold for 2 days i.e Friday 16th – Saturday 17th August 2024, at Onueke Township Stadium, Ezza South LGA.
9. More so, arrangements are on top gear for a mega empowerment scheme and skills acquisition programme for the good people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District.
10. However, suffix it to say that we did our best in reaching out to our esteemed stakeholders and good people of Ebonyi Central during the last Christmas celebration, but I assure you that it is even this year’s Christmas celebration that will indeed be the best.
11. I holds so highly and remains immensely grateful to our dear leader the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State His Excellency Rt. Hon. Buldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and my Boss the Hon. Minister of Works Federal Republic of Nigeria, His. Excellent Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi, both of whom are my destiny helpers.
12. I also sincerely appreciates the entire Stakeholders and indeed the good people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District for their collective sacrifices and individual roles towards my victory as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
13. I urge everyone to be patient with the present administration, especially as it concerns the removal of fuel subsidy, for it may appear biting now, but would be for the general interest of our future economy as a nation.
14. I wish to announce the opening of One Million Naira Trust Fund each, and awards of free education up to University levels to the children of my slain supporters, Mr. Emeka Uzim and Prince Emeka Enyiukpo, respectively of Ikwo and Ishielu LGAs. I promise to always be there for this two great families as my little way of appreciation towards the contributions and supreme sacrifices of their breadwinners, in the course of my victory and the overall victory of our great Party APC, in the last general elections.
15. I shall in today’s event distribute over 1000 bags of Fertilizer to farmers across the 58 Wards of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, and the sum of Ten Million Naira to aide your transport back home.
16. In all, I wish to reiterate that am indeed fully prepared for the enormous responsibilities attached to my office. However, It may interest you to know that the 10th Senate which I belong is still operating on the 2023 budget in which as your serving Senator, I did not inherit any tangible project. Nevertheless, I wish to assure you that I included alot for the Constituency in the 2024 budget which will start being implemented sooner than later.
17. Am highly determined to serve and shall continue to offer creditable representation, and always ensure transparency and quality service delivery, even beyond expectations, for the overall good of the entire people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, Ebonyi State and Nigeria at large.
