…Commends CP Abaniwonda, operatives over enhanced security in Delta

Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has assured that recent security breaches and kidnapping in Abraka communities in Ethiope East Local Government Area which led to protest on Tuesday by residents is already under control.

He disclosed that the state police command in collaboration with other security outfits has eliminated four of the kidnappers terrorizing Abraka communities during a crackdown on the criminals, assuring that the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori will continue to work with security chiefs in the state to apprehend and prosecute criminal elements, especially kidnappers and fraudsters also known as Yahoo boys.

The Bureau Chief who was a guest of “Orientation Panorama,” public affairs program on Voice of Delta Radio on Wednesday in Asaba, said the state police command and other security agencies in the state have been proactive in their responses to distress calls and other strategic operations, resulting in the arrest and prosecution of kidnappers, fraudsters and other criminal elements.

He stated that the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori recently procured over 40 Hilux Vans to enhance effective policing and operations of security agencies, including the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, assuring that government will continue to do the needful to keep Delta safe and secured as encapsulated in the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.

Dr Oghenesivbe posited that Delta being the fourth largest economy in Nigeria, would continue to do the needful to sustain and enhance peace and security, adding that the state is safe and secure for investment, and for vacation, while commending the visionary leadership and excellent performance of the governor Oborevwori in all sectors of the state economy.

The Bureau Chief said that peaceful protest by citizens is lawful to attract the attention of government to the yearnings of the people, provided that such peaceful protests are not hijacked by criminal elements.

He further asserted that the state government and the governor cares for the overall safety, security and well-being of all Deltans irrespective of political, religion and ethnic affiliation.

Dr Oghenesivbe assured that enhanced peace and security of the state as encapsulated in the developmental blueprint of governor Sheriff Oborevwori shall be sustained beyond 2027.
