The Senator representing Kogi West and Senate Committee Chairman on Senate Services, Sunday Karimi, has donated 16 units of electric transformers comprising 500 and 30kva, respectively, to boost the electricity supply to communities in the senatorial district.
A message made available to newsmen through his media office in the National Assembly, Abuja said it has become imperative for him to come to the aid of his constituents in accessing steady electricity supply to their homes across various communities.
He noted that in response to the recommendation of the team of electrical engineering experts, he commissioned to move around communities in the district to ascertain the level of electricity supply to their various communities, he decided in the first phase to support them with the donation of 16 units of transformers to replace damaged or vandalized transformers or other electrical installations, which has slowed down both the economic and social activities of the people in the area.
The sixteen units of transformers, which include a combination of both 500KVA and 300KVA, are to help communities that have been experiencing serious issues with electricity improve the quality of supply in areas across the seven Local Government Areas.
The Senator, however, encouraged the people to at all times protect any and every government infrastructure in their area against vandals and unauthorized operators.
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi promised that more gadgets and fittings are still expected in subsequent sets of deliveries as he promised not to rest until quality electricity in Kogi West is delivered to every nook and cranny.
