Sen. Karimi Mourns Demise of Agankyu of Kakanda Kingdom, Describes it as a Great Loss to Nation
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi, has described the death of His Royal Highness, Mallam Muhammad Sani Alhassan, the Agankyu of Kakanda Kingdom, as a loss to the nation.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Lokoja, Sen. Karimi said the passing has left a vacuum, stating, “I have lost a peaceful monarch. He was committed to the development of his kingdom. His priority was his people first. This is too big a loss.”
He added, “I join the Kakanda Kingdom and the entire Kogi State in mourning the passing of a highly revered monarch.
He noted that the news of his death comes as a painful blow, not only to the Kakanda people but to all who benefited from his wisdom, humility, and firm commitment to peace and development.”
Describing the late Agankyu, Sen. Karimi said, “HRH Mallam Muhammad Sani Alhassan was more than a traditional ruler, he was a stabilizing force, a father to many, and a beacon of unity whose influence transcends boundaries.”
He further stated, “Your reign was defined by compassion, leadership, cultural preservation, and an unshakeable dedication to the wellbeing of your people. Your era was glorious and leaves behind a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.”
Sen. Karimi urged the Kakanda Kingdom to be consoled by the fact that the late monarch’s reign was eventful, saying, “As we collectively mourn, we also celebrate a life lived in service, a reign that brought dignity to the throne and honour to the Kakanda Kingdom.”
