Sen. Karimi Mourns Sudden Demise of APC Chairman in Ijumu LGA, Hon. Oyewole Solomon, Describes Loss as “Devastating”

Abuja — The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of the All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman in Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Oyewole Solomon.
In a statement released on Friday, 21st August 2026, Senator Karimi described the late party chairman as a loyal, committed and grassroots mobilizer whose contributions to the growth of the APC in Ijumu and Kogi West will be greatly missed.
“It is devastating to lose such a dependable young man. I received with great shock and sadness the news of the sudden demise of Hon. Oyewole Solomon, the APC Chairman in Ijumu Local Government Area. His death is a painful loss not only to his immediate family and Ijumu LGA, but to the entire APC family in Kogi State,” the Senator said.
Senator Karimi noted that the late Hon. Solomon was a dependable party leader who worked tirelessly to mobilize support for the party and ensure victory for APC candidates at all levels.
“He was a bridge builder, a man of peace, and a grassroots politician who believed in the ideals of the APC. His commitment, dedication and loyalty to the party was exemplary” he stated.
The Senator commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased, the entire APC structure in Ijumu LGA, the State Executive of the APC, and the people of Ijumu over the irreparable loss.
“I pray to Almighty God to grant the soul of our dear brother eternal rest and to give his family, friends and the entire APC family the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” Senator Karimi prayed.
He also urged party members and supporters to take solace in the fact that Hon. Oyewole Solomon lived a life of service to his people and to the party.
The Senator assured that the legacies of unity, loyalty and grassroots mobilization left behind by the late chairman will be sustained by leaders and members of the party in Ijumu and across Kogi West.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
