Senator Lado and Wife Honored with Chieftaincy Titles in Iyin Ekiti, Donate ₦200 Million

In a grand ceremony, Senator Yakubu Lado and his wife, Chief Mrs. Zainab Abacha Lado, were conferred with prestigious chieftaincy titles in Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The Senator was honored as the Aare Atuluse of Iyin Kingdom, while his wife was bestowed with the title of Yeye Aare Atuluse.
This honor was conferred upon them during the 5th coronation anniversary celebration of Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye, marking a significant milestone in the monarch’s reign which also coincided with the 75th anniversary of the community’s relocation and unification, drew prominent dignitaries from far and wide.
The event drew prominent dignitaries, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibril and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele.
In a remarkable display of commitment to the community’s development, Senator Lado, who was also the chief host and launcher of the ₦1 billion Iyin Development Foundation, donated ₦200 million to support the foundation’s initiatives.
This gesture underscores his dedication to empowering the community and fostering progress in Iyin Ekiti.
The Lado Foundation, under the Senator’s leadership, also announced an extension of its annual education support program to indigent students from Iyin Kingdom.
This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to students pursuing their education in secondary and tertiary institutions, further solidifying the community’s commitment to education and development.
Notable figures in attendance included Deputy Senate President Barau Jibril, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and former Ekiti State Governor Otunba Niyi Adebayo, who were all honored with traditional titles.
This recognition and generous donation are a testament to the Senator’s and his wife’s contributions to the community, and their titles are a fitting acknowledgment of their efforts.
