Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Attends 2025 Ekinrin-Adde Day, Donates ₦10 Million, Pledges Additional ₦50 Million for Community Development

Akin Fanodun – Kabba

Distinguished Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, joined the people of Ekinrin-Adde to celebrate the 2025 Ekinrin-Adde Day, a vibrant annual event that brings together sons and daughters of the community from far and wide to celebrate their heritage and chart a path forward for local development.

In a show of unwavering commitment to grassroots development, Senator Karimi made a generous cash donation of ₦10 million during the event. He also pledged an additional ₦50 million to support various community development initiatives in Ekinrin-Adde. This substantial pledge underscores his dedication to improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other essential services within the community.

Speaking at the event, Senator Karimi emphasized the importance of unity, self-help, and strategic partnerships in driving sustainable development. “We must continue to support each other and invest in the future of our communities. Ekinrin-Adde has always been a beacon of progress in Kogi West, and I am proud to stand with you as a partner in development,” he stated.

This gesture is one in a series of similar efforts by the Senator, who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the socio-economic growth of the Kogi West Senatorial District. Over the past year, he has initiated and supported various projects across communities including:

Water supply and sanitation projects in Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu

Education infrastructure upgrades in Lokoja and Yagba East

Health outreach programs and equipment donations in Yagba West

Rural electrification projects in Mopamuro and other underserved areas

Residents and traditional leaders have lauded Senator Karimi for his hands-on approach, accessibility, and genuine concern for community welfare.

The 2025 Ekinrin-Adde Day was attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and citizens, and featured cultural displays, awards, and development discussions aimed at advancing the community’s vision for sustainable growth.

Senator Karimi’s presence and contribution at the event once again reinforce his role as a key driver of progress in Kogi West.
