Seyi Makinde Reset Agenda Outshines PBAT Door to Door Campaign In Nassarawa

The Seyi Makinde Allied People’s Movement, APM reset agenda overwhelmed PBAT Door to Door campaign held in Lafia simultaneously at Nassarawa state.
The event held at Ta’al Conference Centre witnessed large turn out of supporters and decampees from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC other political parties that joined the Allied People’s Movement, APM.
Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has promised to reset Nigeria within four years if elected president in 2027.
Makinde made the promise on Monday in Lafia, Nasarawa, at a North-Central town hall meeting with women in agriculture, market women, women living with disabilities and widows.
He said that his administration would design special intervention programmes targeted at vulnerable groups, adding that a holistic reset of the economy would improve the wellbeing of Nigerians.
When the tide is high, all the boats will rise. When we reset Nigeria, reset our economy, the impact will be felt by everybody,” he said.
The candidate said effective governance required energy and stamina, although he did not want to make age an issue in the 2027 election.
Makinde cited his schedule in the preceding 24 hours, saying he travelled from Ibadan to Abuja before driving for three and a half hours to Lafia, where he held meetings with party candidates in the North-Central zone until 2 a.m.
“So, you need a lot of energy to be able to serve and govern our people effectively, and Seyi Makinde has the energy,” he said.
The governor said Oyo had reduced its dependence on federal allocation from more than 80 per cent in 2019 to 65 per cent by 2022.
He, however, claimed that the removal of fuel subsidy in 2023, which he said was not properly analysed, had pushed the state’s dependence on federal allocation back to almost 80 per cent.
Makinde said if elected president in 2027, he would run a transitional government of national unity aimed at resetting the country within four years.
“We can reset this country. Reset and give Nigeria a new security architecture. Reset and give Nigeria a new path for education.
“Reset our economy, utilising data science and logic, and reset our socio-political environment in four years,” he said.
He said the proposed government would, from May 29, 2027, focus on creating a new direction for the country’s sustainable development.
“As your president from May 29, 2027, we will run a transitional government of national unity that will culminate in new players and a new agenda for Nigeria’s sustainable development,” he said.
Makinde urged Nigerians to support his proposed reset agenda for a country where, according to him, life would be better for everyone.
