Speaker Rt. Hon.Tajudeen Abbas Creates Historic Liaison Office Between House of Representatives and APC National Headquarters

Abuja:-In a groundbreaking move aimed at fostering greater collaboration between the House of Representatives and the All Progressives Congress (APC), the 10th Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Ph.D., has established a Liaison Office to serve as a bridge between the two institutions. Hon. Garba Chede Hamman-Julde has been appointed as the Liaison Officer, tasked with ensuring smooth communication and coordination between the House and the APC National Headquarters in Abuja.
Hon. Chede, speaking on the historic development, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that it marks the first time in Nigeria’s democratic history that a formal liaison office has been created to facilitate direct interaction between the legislative arm and a political party’s national headquarters. “This is a significant milestone in the evolution of democratic governance in Nigeria,” Chede remarked. “The office will ensure a cordial relationship between the APC National Headquarters and the House of Representatives, enhancing communication and understanding between both bodies.”

The newly created office will enable House members to stay informed about developments within the APC while also providing the party with insight into legislative activities. “Through this office, all information and developments at the APC headquarters will be shared with members of the House, and vice versa,” Chede explained. “It is a proactive approach to governance that promotes transparency and coordination.”
A critical function of the liaison office will be overseeing the remittance of National Assembly members’ dues to the APC, ensuring accountability and compliance. Additionally, the office will handle cross-carpeting matters, assisting legislators transitioning from other political parties to the APC.
The APC National Headquarters has lauded the creation of the Liaison Office, praising Speaker Abbas for his visionary leadership. “This is the handiwork of an exemplary leader,” an APC spokesperson stated. “Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas is a leader who goes beyond conventional governance, continually working to strengthen democracy and unity.”
Hon.
