Stop Supporting Enemies of Nnamdi Kanu, Ohanaeze Cautions IPOB

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo has cautioned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to refrain from unwarranted interference in the activities of the body.
In a statement issued by the Deputy President General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the organization noted that such encroachment was not only unacceptable but also condemnable.
He added that it was regrettable to witness IPOB being misled by individuals who are, disturbingly, benefitting from the ongoing unjust incarceration of the revered leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo contends that IPOB has been maneuvered into a position where it unwittingly supports those complicit in Kanu’s detention. It is particularly disheartening that some individuals close to IPOB leadership, yet not members of the organization, have corrupted the mission of IPOB”.
“We find it lamentable that IPOB has aligned itself with certain Igbo leaders who appear committed to perpetuating the narrative that exploits Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as a scapegoat in their political machinations. These are the very individuals responsible for violence against members of our community, and yet IPOB extends its support to them. This misguided allegiance undermines the very struggle IPOB purports to champion”.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo wishes to inform the public of attempts to use IPOB as a platform for blackmailing the leadership of our organization, intended to undermine those elected to serve our people. Let it be crystal clear: we will not engage in a media battle with IPOB or allow ourselves to be drawn into divisive rhetoric. It is evident that IPOB has been manipulated into unjustly attacking the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo”, Isiguzoro said.
Ohanaeze further implored IPOB and all stakeholders within the Igbo community to realign their efforts towards a unified front against their common adversaries.
