Succour for Kogi Women and Youth as Dr. Ramatu Ibrahim Announces Major Empowerment Programme

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Director of Contact and Mobilization for the City Boy Movement, North Central Zone, Dr. Hajiya Ramatu Ibrahim, has announced plans to empower over 1,000 women, youth and vulnerable individuals in Kogi State.
According to a statement from her media office, the empowerment programme is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the APC State Secretariat in Lokoja.
The initiative, themed “Building Skills, Creating Opportunities” and tagged “Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives,” is designed to create lasting positive impacts for beneficiaries while also generating multiplier effects across all 21 local government areas of the state.
The programme will focus on equipping youths and women with vocational skills and tools necessary for self-reliance. Items to be distributed include barbing clippers, hairdressing equipment, shoemaking kits, sewing machines, grinding machines, and other essential tools.
Dr. Ibrahim described the initiative as the first in a series of empowerment programmes planned for the state, emphasizing its alignment with the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
She noted that the programme reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerian youths and vulnerable populations, as well as fulfilling campaign promises through practical interventions.
The APC chieftain, who also holds the traditional titles of Jaruma Mata Africa and Omi-Akele Atta-Igala, reiterated that the initiative underscores a broader commitment to building resilient communities, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and fostering economic independence among citizens.
