THE PASSAGE OF HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, OBA MICHAEL OLADELE YUSUF, OBADOFIN OF OWELAND, A COLOSSAL LOST – KOGI SPEAKER

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and flag bearer of the ruling All Progressive Congress for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in this month general elections scheduled to hold on 25th, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole has described the passage of His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Oladele Yusuf to join his ancestors two days ago as sudden, devastating, a colossal loss to Owe community and humanity and a burden too heavy to carry by the family and community.

He said it is a personal loss to his family because Ololu Obadofin Oladele Yusuf was more or less like his paternal parent in the way he consistently gave him support and encouragement, stressing that the vacuum he left will be hard to fill considering his roles in his political sojourn since 2015 in Kabba/Bunu till date.

Speaker Kolawole said Ololu Obadofin Oladele Yusuf was an easy going monarch, highly intelligent, soft spoken and straight forward personality that will never use black to call white, pointing out that indeed Kabba (Owe) kingdom and Okun nation has lost a rare gem, an iconic monarch full of carriage and candor.

He said it is sad to have lost such iconic monarch who is an encyclopedia of Kabba (Owe) history, a custodian of Owe culture and traditions who have used all his life time to work for the peace, development and tranquility of the community

He noted that it is painful for someone to lose his or her loved ones at a critical time as this when his word of wisdom, knowledge and encouragement will be needed most. He urged the immediate family, Obaro in Council, Kabba (Owe) Council of Chiefs, Kogi State Traditional Council to take solace in the word of our creator which says there is time to be born and to die, hence all mortal will taste death but have the confidence that Ololu Obadofin Oladele Yusuf is already resting at bossom of the Almighty considering his good deeds while alive.

It is on this note that, the Speaker want to commiserate with his wife, children, Ilemila Royal Family of Kabba (Owe) Kingdom, Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, over the death of His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Oladele Yusuf, Obadofin of Oweland.

May his soul continue to rest in peace

Signed:
Olugbemi Femi,
Chief Press Secretary to Speaker
