The Tayo Leslie Foundation Brings Education Lifelines to Underprivileged Pupils in Egbe.

10 Pupils from Yagba West Local Government Area, Kogi State, Nigeria over the weekend were beneficiaries of the Tayo Leslie Foundation educational lifelines to underprivileged primary school pupils in Egbe.
These 10 pupils are the pioneers of a comprehensive education support program by the Foundation, ensuring underprivileged children have access to education from primary school to university.
The Foundation has paid the school fees for the third term of the 2023/2024 session for the 10 children, following their parents’ agreement to the philanthropic offer.

At her residence in Egbe, Ms. Tayo Leslie, founder of the Tayo Leslie Foundation (TLF), spoke to parents and students about the foundation’s commitment to helping those in need. She recollected that during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn, TLF provided food and cash assistance to the less-privileged.

She stated, “I am not doing this to impress anyone or showcase my wealth, nor am I motivated by any political interests. I am doing this because it is my calling, and I draw my strength from God alone. For years, we have engaged in this work without seeking publicity. If you are reading about it in the media, it is because some people close to me believed that sharing it publicly could inspire other well-placed members of society to give back.

“This journey that begins today is one I am embarking on alongside these children and their parents. I will train them just as I was trained by my parents. In the future, I may consider taking the kids on vacations periodically to provide them with greater exposure and further opportunities in their studies.”

She emphasized TLF’s mission to protect children from abuse and secure a brighter future for them.

Mrs. Comfort Olufunke Ajayi, headmistress of ECWA Primary School (1), thanked TLF for its support, noting how Ms. Leslie helped bring back students sent home for unpaid fees. Parents expressed gratitude for the foundation’s generosity, highlighting its crucial role in safeguarding their children’s education. One parent remarked, “Your generosity has been an inspiration. God bless the Tayo Leslie Foundation.”

The Tayo Leslie Foundation (TLF) is a non-political, non-governmental, and non-profit organization dedicated to humanitarian efforts which aims to alleviate poverty by providing humanitarian services to underserved communities in Egbeland and beyond.
