Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the successful completion of three years in office, describing his administration’s performance as courageous, visionary, and commendable in the face of enormous national challenges.
Speaking on the occasion of the third anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration, Senator Barau praised the President’s transformational leadership style, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to reshape Nigeria’s economic and political landscape.
According to the Deputy Senate President, President Tinubu assumed office at one of the most difficult periods in Nigeria’s democratic history, when the nation was battling severe economic hardship, insecurity, declining public confidence, and concerns over national stability.
“Three years ago, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took over the leadership of our dear country at a very critical time. The economy was under pressure, insecurity was threatening national unity, and many Nigerians were uncertain about the future. But with courage, determination, and clarity of vision, President Tinubu stepped forward to chart a new course for Nigeria,” Senator Barau stated.
He noted that despite the tough realities inherited by the administration, Nigerians are gradually witnessing the positive impact of the bold reforms introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Senator Barau explained that the administration’s decisive fiscal policies, economic restructuring, and strategic reforms were necessary steps toward rescuing the nation’s economy and laying the foundation for long-term prosperity.
“These reforms may be demanding, but they are necessary for national recovery and economic stability. Today, we are seeing the foundation of a stronger, more self-reliant, and productive economy being laid across different sectors,” he said.
The Deputy Senate President further commended President Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development across the six geopolitical zones of the country. He highlighted ongoing investments in road construction, transportation systems, energy reforms, agriculture, technology, and social intervention programmes aimed at improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, these developmental efforts are already stimulating economic activities, creating employment opportunities, and restoring hope among citizens.
Senator Barau also applauded President Tinubu’s courage in taking difficult but necessary decisions in the national interest, stressing that true leadership requires sacrifice, patriotism, and the willingness to prioritize the future of the country over personal comfort or political popularity.
“President Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon leadership by making tough decisions for the greater good of Nigeria. His commitment to supporting states, strengthening democratic institutions, empowering vulnerable citizens, and promoting national unity clearly shows his love and dedication to the country,” he added.
The lawmaker further emphasized the cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government, especially the role of the 10th Senate in supporting policies and legislative initiatives that promote national development.
He stated that the National Assembly remains committed to working closely with the Tinubu administration to ensure the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda for the benefit of all Nigerians.
Senator Barau therefore called on citizens to continue supporting the administration with patience, unity, and prayers, noting that nation-building is a collective responsibility that requires sacrifice and cooperation from all stakeholders.
“As we celebrate this important milestone, Nigerians must continue to believe in the vision of a better nation. The task of rebuilding Nigeria is not an overnight journey, but with collective determination and good leadership, our country will emerge stronger and more prosperous,” he said.
He concluded by describing President Tinubu’s three years in office as not just a political achievement, but a historic period of transformational leadership aimed at securing a brighter future for generations yet unborn.
“Indeed, the journey of Renewed Hope continues, and Nigeria is rising stronger,” Senator Barau declared.
