Tinubu’s Trust in Oborevwori: Udu Chairman Hails Governor’s Appointment as Campaign Finance Director
— Urges Deltans to Support Governor, Deliver Tinubu Landslide in 2027

The appointment of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as Finance Director and Treasurer of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections has been described as a strong demonstration of the confidence and trust reposed in him by the President.
The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, who made the assertion, said the strategic responsibility entrusted to the governor was a significant recognition of his political sagacity, administrative competence, integrity and capacity to deliver on sensitive assignments.
Oyibode said the choice of Oborevwori for such a critical position was a clear indication that President Tinubu had confidence in the governor’s ability to effectively coordinate and manage the financial responsibilities of the campaign organisation.
He said: “The appointment of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is highly commendable because it is a clear demonstration of the enormous trust and confidence Mr President has in him.
“It shows that President Tinubu recognises the capacity, integrity and leadership qualities of Governor Oborevwori and believes strongly in his ability to handle responsibilities entrusted to him.”
The Udu council chairman described the appointment as a major political development that had further projected Delta State into the centre of national political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the appointment is not only a recognition of Oborevwori’s growing national political profile but also an indication of the strategic importance attached to Delta State in the political calculations leading to 2027.
Oyibode commended the governor for his leadership and commitment to the development of Delta State, saying his emergence in the President’s campaign structure had created another opportunity for the state to play a more prominent role in national politics.
He said the appointment should also be viewed as an opportunity for Delta to strengthen its relationship with the Federal Government and attract greater attention to the aspirations and development needs of its people.
The Udu chairman therefore urged Deltans across the state to rally solidly behind Governor Oborevwori as he undertakes his new national responsibility.
Oyibode specifically called on Deltans to come out en masse during the 2027 general elections and support the governor by ensuring that President Tinubu records a landslide victory in Delta State.
He said such overwhelming support would not only demonstrate Delta’s confidence in Oborevwori’s leadership but would also give the governor the political backing required to effectively contribute to the President’s re-election campaign.
“Deltans should come out en masse to support our governor in this national assignment. We must stand firmly behind him and ensure that Mr President wins Delta State by a landslide,” he said.
Oyibode expressed confidence that Oborevwori would justify the confidence reposed in him by President Tinubu, stressing that the governor’s political experience, organisational ability and understanding of grassroots politics would be brought to bear on the assignment.
He congratulated Governor Oborevwori on the appointment, describing it as a “well-deserved recognition of trust, competence and leadership,” and wished him success in the discharge of his new responsibility.
The Udu chairman further expressed optimism that Oborevwori’s role in the 2027 campaign would strengthen Delta State’s position in the South-South political landscape and create a stronger platform for the state to advance its interests at the national level.
