Uni Abuja Acting Vice Chancellor Bags Excellent Service Award, Urges Nigerians To Be Accommodating

In recognition and appreciation of the purposeful leadership and administrative Sagacity demonstrated by Professor Patricia Manko Lar, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, also known as the Gen. Yakubu Gowon University, the Post Graduate Students of the University has honoured her with an Award of Excellent Service.
Prof. Lar received the Award at a Security Dialogue, Organized by the Post Graduate Students of the University, titled, ” Managing Insecurity for Development In a Multi-Ethnic Society”, held, Wednesday 14th, May 2025, at the Conference Center, Permanent Site of the University of Abuja, an event that drew attendees from all walks of life.
Reacting to the Award accorded her,Prof.Patricia Manko lar said the Award came to her as a big Surprise and felt unworthy of the accolades, Considering the fact that it has not been long she assumed the leadership of the University, she however, described the Award as a mark of identification of the potentials the Students group believed she possessed and ready to deploy in her service to the University.
Commenting on the theme of the Security Dialogue,” Managing Insecurity for Development In a Multi-Ethnic Society”. the acting Vice Chancellor urged Nigerians to embrace the reality of the Nation’s diversity and to also acknowledge the individualistic interest that comes with diversity and be ready to accommodate one another.
Continuing, Prof.Lar pointed out that political leaders in the Country should be able to identify the middle point, and also allow Nigerians to coexist , encourage dialogue and amicable resolution of Conflicts, and that the law enforcement agencies should be allowed to do their work in the instance of recalcitrance.
