Varsity lecturer eulogies Governor Bello for the establishment of Kogi State University Kabba. ….says the Governor has secured a good spot in the history books.

Following the recent approval of the State Executive Council (SEC) on the establishment of another state-owned university in Okun land, and the consequent location of same at Kabba the headquarter of Kogi west and traditional centre of the okun people, H.E Governor Yahaya Bello has not only fulfilled the long aspiration and dream of a people whose major enterprise and trade is education but has equally secured a good spot for himself in the annals of our history books.

Speaking earlier today the 21st day of June, 2023 in Kabba, Olorundare Abraham Sunday (popularly known as Destiny) a lecturer from the Department of political science, Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba, expressed appreciation to the governor for daring to balance the imbalances and ensuring fairness and justice prevail.

The political scientist further noted that the establishment of the university comes with anticipated rapid development of Okunland and the people, hundreds and thousands of direct and indirect jobs, capacity building, the attraction of investors within and outside the state, among others.

Olorundare also remarks that the state government should consider drawing from the pool of well experienced workforce from both PAAU Anyigba and CUSTECH Osara to lay a solid foundation while also reducing cost. He further recommended that contractors with track records of quality and prompt delivery be considered in the award of contracts for the university to ensure that the desire of the Governor to attend the first matriculation of the university is a reality.

In his words “I am personally happy this is happening in my time and the fact that the governor is matching his words with action has made H.E. Yahaya Bello the best governor of kogi state ever. This is so because education is a master key to prosperity and a cure for poverty which the establishment of the institution has echoed in no small measure, further reaffirmed governor Bello’s commitment and investment in education. Hence we are grateful”.

Finally, the university don assures the governor of the support of Okun people at any point, any stage of the processes leading to the actualization of the university as he concluded by saying the Okun nation is blessed with highly experienced and renowned academics across all fields with sterling records needed to make the institution one of the best in Nigeria in no distant time.
