WAEC team applauds Start-Rite, CBT pilot school for impeccable conduct
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) National Office and Board Members have applauded Start-Rite School, a pioneer pilot school for the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) examination.
They gave the applause in the course of their visit to the school in Abuja, aimed at assessing the school’s readiness and conduct during the CBT exams.
The Head of WAEC National Office, Dr. Josiah Dangut, who led the team, according to a report by Capital FM, likewise extolled the students of the School for their exceptionally good conduct during the ongoing exams.
Dr. Dangut was said to have expressed “satisfaction with the school’s infrastructure, technical capabilities, and overall exam administration.
“The WAEC team described the CBT exams as seamless, attributing the success to the school’s thorough preparation and effective invigilation.
“The students demonstrated confidence and familiarity with the CBT format, showcasing their adaptability and technical skills.”
“I want to appreciate Start-Rite School and the principal for taking the bull by the horn as a pilot school for the CBT exam. Your school now does not have anything to worry about, you have started, while others will wait for next year. So, we congratulate your school,” the Head WAEC National Office stated.
Giving the vote of thanks to the WAEC team, the Head Boy of the School, Chibueze Ajuibe, who scored 342 in the last UTME, noted that the students writing the exams including himself had so far not experienced any challenge in using the new system introduced by WAEC.
The participation of Start – Rite School, a leading citadel of learning in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, known for its academic distinction, as a pilot school the WAEC-introduced CBT exams is said to underscore its commitment to innovation and excellence in education.
The school felt honoured by the visit. As indicated on its Facebook page, “We were honored to welcome the Head of Office of WAEC and other top officials to our school!

Commenting on the visit of the WAEC team and the complimentary remarks from the exam body, the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Start-Rite School, Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), who is equally the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), said: “We are grateful for the commendation and acknowledgement of our efforts by WAEC. It is an encouragement for us to keep improving our standards and maintain our high level of academic excellence.”
