‘We Are Praying for a Higher Assignment for You’ – Elulu of Mopa, Oba Ibeun Tells Leke Abejide

The Elulu of Mopa and Chairman of the Mopamuro Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun, has said traditional leaders and the people of Mopamuro are praying for Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide to receive a higher national assignment in recognition of his service to Yagba land.

Oba Ibeun made the remarks when Abejide, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, visited the Mopa Traditional Council during the ongoing disbursement of empowerment funds under the Leke Abejide Foundation.

“We are praying for a higher assignment for you,” the monarch said. “What you are doing for our people goes beyond politics. You have shown that representation is about touching lives directly.”

He noted that although some Mopamuro sons contested against Abejide in the last election, the people still love him. As proof, he said no one challenged the outcome of the election in court, which showed acceptance on the part of his opponents.

The royal father commended Abejide for his consistency in delivering projects and empowerment programmes across the 71 communities in the constituency, noting that the interventions had impacted education, health, infrastructure, and youth employment.

He urged the lawmaker not to relent, assuring him of the continued support and prayers of the Mopa Traditional Council and its people.

Responding, Abejide thanked the Elulu and the community for their support and prayers.

He said the foundation’s community projects initiative was designed to ensure that development reached the grassroots without delay, and reiterated his commitment to serving Yagba land with transparency and accountability.

The event in Mopa is part of the foundation’s current phase of disbursements, which has seen millions of naira released to communities for projects prioritized at the local level.
