Wike’s Remodelling of Clearing Shanties, Filth in FCT,

Since assumption of duty as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Barrister Nzenwo Nyesom Wike CON has not rested on its oars, through provision of a healthy environment devoid all forms of unwanted elements, structures and cleaniness.
Determined to set a new pace , in the last two years, the Minister has ensured the evacuation of about 1,500 Shanties that had sprang up all in the name of nations villages and had constituted a nuisance to the development of the territory.
Aside contributing to the unhealthy living , congestions among many others , the proliferation of the shanties has become hideouts for criminal elements who stormed the city on daily basis to perpetrate all forms of criminal activities and vices that posed a great danger to the residents of the city center and environs.
Having known this negative situations and studied the trend of their activities, a joint task force and machinery was put in place to arrest the trend by gradually wiping out the districts, zones , areas and other high brow locations of the territory.
To protect the public utilities, redoubled the infrastructural development of FCT, the need to ensure it’s security of the Items deserved urgent attention.
The arrest of the scourge along with clearing of debris across the nation’s city and area councils has become a major priority of the Wike led administration in the FCT.
This has led to the engagement of new vendors charged with the evacuation of refuse across the nation’s city, as well as living a contact in major areas of the city to report cases of negligence to the appropriate quarters.
Not done with the provision and platforms, the Minister from time to time and recently threatened to sack the vendors if found wanting, and not living to the expectations of the general public.
This is with a view to arresting the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the nation’s city and area councils, and to keep it neat in line with the global standards.
For the Minister, his policy of keeping pace with all round development of the FCT is not negotiable and needful particularly in the current dispensation.
