You are no longer our President- ICDA BOT knocks Ex-Leader Abubakar for impersonation

A socio-cultural organization, Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) has cautioned the general public to distance itself from one Alhaji Sadiq Amodu Abubakar parading himself as President of the association.

In a statement signed by the Director of Publicity, ICDA Board of Trustees Secretariat Momoh Alaji Okutepa on Tuesday, he said the Executive headed by Alhaji Sadiq Amodu Abubakar was proscribed by the former Atta Igala before he went on hunting expedition.

Okutepa averred that, this position was re affirmed by the current Atta Igala on assumption of office.

According to the statement, inspite
of this Alhaji Sadiq Amodu Abubakar has continued to parade himself as President of ICDA .

The statement reads in part “The Board has therefore resolved to draw the attention of the general public to discountenance any statement or directive from the proscribed ICDA exco under the leadership of Alhaji Sadiq Amodu Abubakar.

“It important to note that His Royal Majesty Mathew Alaji Oguche Akpa, Atta Igala had called a meeting in his Palace last year of the earstwhile Executive of ICDA under the leadership of Alhaji Sadiq Amodu Abubakar and the Caretaker Committee under the leadership of Commodore (RTD) A A Abdulai and directed Alhaji Sadiq Amodu Abubakar to hand over the activities of ICDA to the Caretaker Committee. It is important to note that the dissolution of the Executive Committee communicated personally by the Atta Igala to their ears while the executives did not contested that at that meeting.

“It is therefore surprising, sad and unfortunate that Sadiq Amodu Abubakar did not only refuse to comply with the directive of Gabaidu but continued to parade himself as President of an executive committee that had been proscribed.

“We wish to also inform that the Caretaker Committee appointed by Atta Igala to run the association on adhoc basis until it is reconstituted with new officials has since completed its assignment and submitted, report, draft amended Constitution, Bye laws and ICDA Developmental policy documents.

“It is important to also note that an Electoral Committee has now been appointed by Atta Igala with the understanding of the Board of Trustees . An election is due to be conducted soon to fill vacancies .

“It is our considered view therefore that the former President of ICDA issuing releases and directives is a show of lack of culture and respect for the stool of the Atta Igala by someone who was once assumed to know better”.

The statement added that, any directives and releases from Alhaji Sadiq Amodu Abubakar and his team are unnecessary, null , void and of no effect and should please be disregarded by the general public.
