YULETIDE: NSCDC Deploys 2,380 Personnel Across Kwara, Issues Stern Warning to Vandals

KEHINDE AKINPELU ILORIN

In a proactive move to ensure a safe and peaceful Yuletide season, the Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Umar J.G. Muhammed, has authorized the deployment of 2,380 officers and men to strengthen the protection of critical national assets, safeguard public facilities, and ensure the safety of residents throughout the Yuletide season.

The State Commandant disclosed that the deployment covers all sixteen (16) local government areas of the state, with personnel drawn from elite and specialized units, including the Armed Squad, Operational Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Unit. Officers have been strategically positioned based on threat assessments and operational requirements.

Commandant Umar further noted that the command will coordinate closely with other security agencies, including local vigilantes, to ensure effective coverage, rapid response, and comprehensive security throughout the festive period.

While extending his warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the people of Kwara State, the Commandant issued a stern warning to vandals and troublemakers, declaring that the NSCDC is fully prepared to confront any attempt to disrupt public peace or tamper with critical assets, and that all offenders will face the full weight of the law.

He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and security-conscious, encouraging them to report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency, noting that community cooperation is vital to a safe and peaceful festive season.
