Yusuf Swears in 27 Advisers, Receives Multiple Awards for Governance

KANO — Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sworn in 27 Special Advisers, charging them to demonstrate loyalty, commitment and dedication while supporting the administration’s development agenda.
The governor gave the charge on Thursday during the 41st State Executive Council Meeting at the Governor’s Lodge, Aminu Kano House, Abuja, where 21 new advisers were inaugurated and six others reappointed after previously resigning to pursue political ambitions.

Yusuf said the reappointed advisers retained their positions because of their performance and contributions to the administration, while the new appointees were selected based on merit, proven records and commitment to the government’s objectives.
He urged the advisers to work collectively towards achieving the Kano First Agenda and supporting relevant aspects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, while prioritising effective service delivery to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Engr. Abdullahi Kutama and Arc. Hauwa Hassan pledged their commitment to their responsibilities and the administration’s objectives.
The Executive Council meeting also provided an occasion for the presentation of multiple awards and recognitions to Governor Yusuf for achievements attributed by the presenting organisations to his administration in governance and various sectors.
Among the recognitions were the BusinessDay Governor of the Year Award under the States Competitiveness and Investment Readiness Awards (SCIRA), an Award of Excellence from the Northwest Veteran Foundation, recognition from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and an award from the National Qur’anic Memorisation Association.
Other recognitions included an award for revenue-generation performance, honours from the Forum of Islamic Secretaries of Kano’s 44 local government areas, and recognition by the National Bureau of Statistics, while stakeholders in the health and adult-literacy sectors also presented commendations.
Yusuf expressed appreciation for the recognitions and dedicated them to the people of Kano State, members of the executive, legislature and judiciary, traditional and religious institutions, civil servants, development partners and other stakeholders.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, people-oriented policies and sustainable development.
The twin developments underscored the administration’s emphasis on strengthening its political and administrative team while highlighting recognitions presented by various organisations for its reported performance across key sectors.
