2023 Kabba Day Central Planning Committee Visits Oba Solomon, Obaro of Kabba

Ahead of the 2023 Kabba Day Celebrations later this year, the Central Planning Committee led by its Chairman, Barrister Segun Modeyin and Secretary, Mr Justin Bello paid a courtesy visit to the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, HRM, Oba (Dr) Solomon Dele Owoniyi to inform him of their appointment as committee members, asking for his support, cooperation and also to discuss the way forward for the community.

Speaking at the palace, Barrister Modeyin first congratulated the monarch for the newly established Kogi State University, Kabba by the Kogi State Government under the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and other developmental projects that have been recorded in recent time, describing the positives during his reign as monumental to the advancement of the socio-economic development of the area.

He said the committee was inaugurated two weeks ago by the President – General of the Kabba Development Union (KDU), Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero to organize a world class cultural event that will showcase and promote the rich cultural and traditional heritages of the people of Kabba (Owe) kingdom, stressing that the committee cannot do anything without informing the paramount ruler of land and also seek his endorsement for them to carry on the assignment.

The committee promised to organize a hitch free event that will attract dignitaries from all walks of life, across all spectrum of sectors globally, while assuring that all and sundry will be carried along to have a successful outing later this year.

While reacting, the Revered monarch thanked the committee for deeming it fit to pay him a courtesy visit, stressing that he is ever ready to welcome any idea that will promote peace, unity and development of not only Kabba community but the entire Okunland, pointing out that celebration of cultural day is a good thing that should be encouraged across various communities.

He noted that Governor Yahaya Bello has done so much for Okunland especially on the recently established state owned University sited in Kabba, pointing out that most of the good things that have eluded Okun land before will be restored by the grace of God in no distant time.

The monarch while congratulating them, urged the committee to carry along all segments of the community and also draw out programs that will make the day memorable and  that since this year is electioneering year, they should be conscious of their actions so as not to heat up the polity, pointing out that he is ready to support and cooperate with them to have a successful event.
