KADUNA — The All Progressives Congress (APC) North West Zone delivered a resounding political statement on Saturday as its top leaders, including Deputy Senate President Barau I Jibrin and National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration came at a high-profile stakeholders’ meeting in Kaduna, attended by APC Governors from the region — Uba Sani (Kaduna), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Umar Namadi (Jigawa) — as well as Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, Ministers, State APC Chairmen, legislators, agency heads, and senior political appointees.
The meeting turned electric when Senator Barau posed a charged rhetorical question to the crowd: “Aso Rock?” to which the room thundered back, “No vacancy!” — a symbolic and emphatic expression of their loyalty to President Tinubu’s leadership.
“It is clear in 2027, we will have a landslide victory, Insha’Allah. Let us continue with unity, with our shared commitment, and with cooperation. Let us stand firmly with President Tinubu and with each other.”
He credited the president’s track record of governance and effective response to inherited national challenges as key reasons behind a wave of defections from opposition parties into the APC.
“President Tinubu inherited a country with deep-rooted challenges — security issues, economic instability, and social unrest. But today, we are seeing real progress. The roads once plagued by bandits are now open. People can now travel from Abuja to Kaduna. Life has returned to Birnin Gwari. Farmers have returned to their lands. That is no small achievement.”
Barau reminded the gathering that while challenges remain, what matters most is the direction and commitment of leadership — and President Tinubu, he said, has demonstrated both.
APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje echoed Senator Barau’s sentiments, applauding Tinubu’s deliberate focus on Northern development.
“President Tinubu has shown deep commitment to the North West and the broader northern region from roads to agriculture, from education to social welfare,” Ganduje said. “He does not just talk development. He delivers it.”
He cited the recent establishment of the North West Development Commission as a testament to Tinubu’s political will to address long-standing regional disparities and boost investment in human and infrastructural capital.
“This commission isn’t just an institution,” Ganduje said, “it is a bold message to every citizen of the North West, that this government sees you, hears you, and is committed to your progress.”
The Kaduna meeting marked a turning point in what insiders describe as the beginning of the APC’s “Operation Consolidate 2027” strategy. Behind the scenes, party machinery is mobilizing support across all levels to ensure the continuity of President Tinubu’s administration, which they believe is stabilizing the country and laying the groundwork for long-term prosperity.
Multiple APC sources confirm that more defections from opposition parties are expected in the coming months as the party solidifies its grassroots presence across all zones, particularly in the North West.
From the thunderous applause in the Kaduna hall to the unity of purpose demonstrated by top party figures, one message rang loud and clear: the APC North West Zone is fully aligned and ready to return Tinubu to Aso Rock come 2027.
As the political clock ticks closer to 2027, all eyes will be on how the APC leverages this momentum and whether President Tinubu’s governance continues to win hearts across Nigeria’s political spectrum.
