2027: Oborevwori ‘ll emerge consensus governorship candidate in Delta – Oghenesivbe

Governor of Delta State, Dr (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori will have a smooth sail into his second tenure in 2027, judging from his monumental achievements which is expected to be upscaled before general elections.

Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe gave the assurance on Friday in Lagos during an interview with Radio Nigeria Correspondent.

He said governor Oborevwori, for obvious reasons anchored on patriotism, credible leadership, political bridge building and excellent performance in office, would emerge as a consensus governorship candidate in the forthcoming general elections, pointing out that the good people of Delta State are very eager to sustain the unprecedented level of development being experienced under Oborevwori administration.

And in the power sector, Dr Oghenesivbe said governor Oborevwori recently activated the process that would eventually light up the three senatorial districts, by signing the State Power sector Bill into Law, pointing out that electricity is one of the major drivers of any economy.

He assured that the state government will continue to do the needful to drive the power sector agenda to fruition within the life span of governor Oborevwori administration.

The Bureau Chief stated that infrastructure development has been in the front burner of the governor’s deliberate efforts to build durable standard roads, adding that the reconstruction of Ughelli-Asaba highway dualization, as well as the ongoing upgrading of Warri Township Stadium to a world class sports facility had provided and will continue to prove thousands of jobs for Deltans.

He said upon completion, Warri Stadium shall produce more stars that would make the state proud at both national and international sports competitions, attract huge revenue for the state in multifaceted dimensions.

Dr Oghenesivbe said governor Oborevwori is focused on fulfilling his electioneering campaign promises to the good people of Delta State, and that time is probably too early for the governor to deploy substantial energy into electioneering politics, assuring that at the appropriate time, the political drum beats shall sound, and Deltans would definitely rally round their performing governor for a second tenure in office.

“Governor Oborevwori is a man of few words, very meticulous and result oriented. His focus at the moment is essentially on the delivery of more dividends of democracy to the people.

“”Infrastructure and socioeconomic remodelling and growth are in the front burner, and governor Oborevwori is not resting on his oars. The people are his prime focus and can be seen in his progressive style of leadership and good governance, which has consistently earned him multiple Awards, and counting.

“Governor Oborevwori is not playing politics at the moment. He’s busy inspecting ongoing mega infrastructure projects, commissioning completed projects, awarding new contracts for the rapid socioeconomic and infrastructural transformation of Delta State.

“And I dare to say that, come 2027, governor Oborevwori may emerge as the consensus governorship candidate in Delta State, because Deltans are very happy with his legacy projects, uncommon humility, prudent management of state resources and visionary leadership, among others.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is on duty till May 29, 2031.” Oghenesivbe assured
