‎2027 : Opposition party leaders, members in Imane decamp to APC, describes Gov Ododo as exemplary

‎Leaders and supporters of opposition parties in Imane, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State on Sunday dropped the membership of their parties and joined the ruling All Progressives Party, APC.
‎
‎Leaders of the opposition parties who led their supporters to defect include Doctor Muhammed Edoka,  Mr Ben Adaji and Mr Simon Ekpa among others.
‎
‎While receiving the decampees, the Zonal Chairman of APC in Kogi East Senatorial District, Honourable Hassan Ogwu, assured them of equal opportunities in the party.
‎
‎Honourable Hassan Ogwu said that the APC in the state was witnessing a harvest of  defectors in view of President Bola Tinubu ‘s developmental stride and the visionary leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as being replicated in the community by the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Honourable Onuh Edoka.

‎He called on the people to put the past behind and enjoy the benefits of democracy, urging the new members to avoid divisive tendencies.

‎The APC  East Zonal Chairman assured that both the President and the Governor will be re-elected for their second term and appealed for their cooperation.
‎
‎The APC East Zonal Chairman also warned against acts that will destroy individuals and the party, adding that they should not be deceived by those who do not mean well for the APC.
‎
‎Also Speaking, the State Commissioner of Youth and sports development, Honourable Monday Anyebe told the people that the party will continue to shine, describing their coming as timely and a welcome development.
‎
‎Other speakers, including the Local Government Chairman, Comrade Williams Ameh, Ibrahim Yakubu, the Imane Ward Chairman of APC and the Chairman, forum of former Commissioners, Honourable Salisu Ogwu noted that Comrade Edoka has inspired many to join the party and commended him for making a positive difference in the leadership of the area.

‎According to Comrade Williams Ameh, Comrade Onuh Edoka had demonstrated such capacity in unionism or labour cycle and also doing so in politics, stressing that his good works are being noticed across board, pointing out that he was a factor for the defections.
‎
‎The Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onu Edoka, the initiator of defection rally, said APC was doing well under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, emphasizing that a golden fish has no hiding place.

‎”Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has shown true leadership and this had endeared him to everyone, hence the massive defection today, on this note, I want to thank the who is who in Olamaboro Local government, particularly the leaders of the opposition parties who have come, and for identifying with our course, this is to show that they actually love our people and our party”, Edoka stated.

‎Leading the defectors, Mr Ben Adaji and Doctor Mohammed Edoka both said that politics was dynamic and progressive as such, Governor Usman Ododo had displayed the qualities of a good leader by duely consulting them and winning their hearts.

‎Dignitaries at the event include Former Commissioner of Commerce, Mr. Gabriel Olofu, Member, Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Arome Adoji, State Secretary of APC, Joshua Emmanuel Onoja, Special Adviser on Environment, Yakubu Abo, Comrade Hassan Ayuba , an Abuja based Business man and former ‎Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Honourable Friday Adejoh Nichodemus and Former NULGE President in Kogi State, Comrade Tom Abutu among others.

‎The occasion witnessed the official presentation of brooms to the decampees as party symbol of unity, cultural display and other side attractions, which brought the community to a stand still.
