The Ahmed Aliyu Wadada Project 2027 Campaign Council has appointed media professional Yahaya Idris Toto as its Head of Media and Publicity for Toto Local Government Area, ahead of the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election.
Yahaya Idris Toto is expected to coordinate the council’s media, publicity and strategic communication activities in Toto LG in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada.
The appointment was contained in a statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Coordinator of the Wadada Project Campaign Council in Toto LG, Hon. (Alhaji) Muhammed Usman Shege.
Shege said the campaign council had put the necessary machinery in place to commence its 2027 electioneering activities, with plans to engage political stakeholders, community leaders, youths and other critical groups across Toto Local Government.
Explaining the rationale behind the appointment, Shege said Yahaya Idris Toto was selected based on his merit, commitment, expertise and experience in the attention economy.
According to him, the media media icon is expected to deploy his experience in strategic communication to strengthen the campaign’s visibility and effectively communicate its programmes and messages to the electorate.
“The choice of Yahaya Idris Toto as Head of Media for Toto LG was based on merit, commitment, expertise and his ability to bring his wealth of experience in the attention economy to bear,” Shege said.
The coordinator described the appointment as part of efforts to build a strong grassroots communication structure capable of effectively projecting the campaign across Toto LG.
Shege also said the APC, as the governing party in Toto Local Government, was determined to secure victory in the 2027 elections.
The former Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State Governor urged eligible citizens who have attained the voting age of 18 to participate actively in the electoral process, stressing the importance of citizens’ involvement in democratic governance.
He further described Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the best governorship candidate for Nasarawa State, maintaining that the senator’s candidacy was “sellable” to the electorate.
Shege, who is also a grassroots mobiliser, expressed optimism that Yahaya Idris Toto’s appointment would strengthen the campaign council’s media operations, publicity and grassroots communication as political activities ahead of the 2027 election intensify.
The appointment marks another step in the campaign council’s preparations to deepen its engagement with voters and stakeholders across Toto Local Government.
