A Celebration of Life: Pa Joseph Ajibola Owonibi (1932-2023)

In a heartwarming and emotional announcement, the Owonibi family gathers with gratitude to God to celebrate the long and fulfilled life of their revered and beloved patriarch, Pa Joseph Ajibola Owonibi. A pillar of strength and wisdom, Pa Owonibi’s journey on Earth came to a peaceful end, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished.

Born in 1932, Pa Owonibi resided in Ayetoro-Gbede, Ijumu LGA, Kogi State, where he built a remarkable existence filled with love, hard work, and devotion to his family and community. With a gentle spirit and a kind heart, he touched countless lives throughout his 91 years, leaving an indelible impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The first in a series of heartfelt tributes to celebrate his remarkable life will commence with his Wake Keep on Thursday, 29th February 2024 at 5.00pm. The solemn ceremony will be held at Late Pa J. A. Owonibi’s Residence, Ayetoro-Gbede, as family, friends, and well-wishers gather to pay their last respects, reflecting on the cherished memories created together.

The final chapter of this extraordinary journey will unfold on Friday, 1st March 2024, with the Burial Service and Interment. Commencing at 10.00am, the First Baptist Church in Ayetoro-Gbede will be adorned with love and remembrance, as Pa Owonibi’s life is honored in a service filled with faith, hope, and poignant tributes.

Following the service, a solemn procession will lead to the Christian Cemetery, where Pa Owonibi will find his eternal resting place. Surrounded by the presence of loved ones, he will forever remain in their hearts, his spirit remembered through the lessons he taught, the values he upheld, and the love he bestowed.

Pa Joseph Ajibola Owonibi is survived by devoted wives, children, and grandchildren. Their shared memories and the profound impact he made on their lives will serve as a lasting testament to his love and dedication as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

As the Owonibi family and the entire Ayetoro-Gbede community prepare to bid farewell to their beloved patriarch, they draw strength from the legacy he leaves behind. Pa Joseph Ajibola Owonibi’s life may have come to an earthly end, but his spirit will forever reside within the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
