POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHTS AND CORPORATE TITANS TO CONVERGE IN ABUJA AS TOMPOLO-BACKED GROUP UNVEILS TINUBU RE-ELECTION MANIFESTO BOOK
ABUJA, Nigeria — In a major display of political and economic force ahead of the 2027 general elections, Nigeria’s top political figures and corporate magnates are set to gather in the nation’s capital on Nov. 5 for the launch of a high-profile book backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Organized by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Door-to-Door Movement and bankrolled by its Grand Patron, former Niger Delta leader High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo—popularly known as Dr. Tompolo—the event will take place at the Bola Ahmed International Conference Centre in Abuja. Strictly by invitation, the gathering signals an aggressive early push by supporters to rally elite and grassroots consensus around the administration’s policy record.
The centerpiece of the occasion will be the public presentation of The Courage to Reform: Architecture of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Beyond 2027, Statecraft, Vision for National Renewal. The publication examines Tinubu’s governing philosophy, far-reaching economic interventions, and long-term vision for Nigeria’s political future, framing his controversial policy choices as necessary steps for structural renewal.
Reflecting an effort to align political leadership with private-sector capital, industrialist Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has been named Chief Launcher of the publication. He will be joined by Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Cement Plc, serving as Co-Chief Launcher. Organizers underscored that pairing Nigeria’s premier business leaders with state officials aims to center the event on broader discussions around economic sustainability, governance, and national development.
President Tinubu is expected to attend as the Special Guest of Honour. The event will be chaired by Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), while Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike serves as the official host. Dr. Tompolo will act as Chief Host.
The guest list comprises a cross-section of the Nigerian establishment. Parliamentary leaders including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas are slated to attend, alongside Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, members of the APC National Working Committee, and Federal Executive Council ministers.
Key campaign and policy strategists are also featured, including Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, designated as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters, and Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, founder of the Tinubu Support Group. State governors will be represented by Nigeria Governors’ Forum Chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman Hope Uzodimma.
Nigeria’s traditional institutions will maintain a prominent presence, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, and the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II. Representatives from the diplomatic corps, religious organizations, and youth leadership groups are also expected.
While the publication serves as an explicit campaign vehicle for policy continuity beyond 2027, the gathering comes amid an ongoing nationwide debate over the social and economic impact of the administration’s reform agenda. Supporters view the launch as an opportunity to articulate the administration’s achievements, though analysts note that public evaluation of the reforms will ultimately rest on tangible indicators such as purchasing power, employment generation, and overall living standards as the country approaches its next electoral cycle.
