A MENTOR, A STATESMAN, A VOICE OF REASON: NIGER STATE CELEBRATES HON. MOHAMMED NMA KOLO’S RE-APPOINTMENT AS CHIEF POLITICAL ADVISER
By Dr. Aiyeku Olufemi Samuel Adeyinka, Development Economist, Policy & Political Analyst, Co-Founder & Lead Consultant, Global Human Capital & Energy Management Limited (GHCEML)
News broke yesterday. Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has re-appointed Hon. Mohammed Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser to the Niger State Government, alongside the confirmation of six Commissioners-Designate and three Special Advisers on Political Matters. For those who have followed this quietly influential elder statesman’s journey, the news came as no surprise only as overdue, well-earned confirmation of what many across Niger State have known for years: that few figures combine political wisdom, personal integrity, and mentorship the way Hon. Nma Kolo does.
On behalf of the Management and Staff of Global Human Capital & Energy Management Limited (GHCEML), we join the wider Niger State family, the Progressives and Renewed Hope family to celebrate the Niger State Coordinator,
the broadcasting community and well-wishers across Nigeria in celebrating this richly deserved re-appointment. It is, in every sense, a fitting recognition of a distinguished journey and a clear signal of the confidence the present administration places in his wisdom, experience and enduring commitment to the development of our dear State.
A Statesman Whose Counsel Has Outlasted Administrations
What sets Hon. Nma Kolo apart is not merely the offices he has held, but the quiet consistency with which he has held them. Across successive administrations in Niger State, his wisdom, integrity and gift for quiet diplomacy have repeatedly shaped the course of governance and policy direction, often behind the scenes, always with the State’s best interest at heart. In a political landscape where loud ambition frequently overshadows genuine service, his has been a career built on substance over spectacle.
A Broadcasting Icon Who Redefined Public Enlightenment
Beyond the corridors of government, Hon. Nma Kolo’s visionary leadership at the helm of Nexter Radio FM 97.7 has elevated broadcasting in Niger State from mere airtime into a genuine instrument of public enlightenment, economic empowerment, and national development. Under his stewardship, the station has become more than a media outlet, it has become a platform for civic education, youth engagement, and community voice, reflecting a broadcaster’s conscience matched by a statesman’s discipline.
A Mentor Whose Influence Multiplies Beyond Himself
Perhaps what distinguishes Hon. Nma Kolo most profoundly is his role as a mentor to a rising generation of young professionals, broadcasters, and public servants across Niger State. His life’s work bears witness to a rare fusion of statesmanship and stewardship, one in which governance finds a voice of reason, broadcasting finds a face of humanity, and countless mentees find a patient, generous guide. It is this quality, the willingness to pour into others without seeking the spotlight, that has quietly built a legacy far broader than any single title can capture.
A Renewed Mandate, A Continued Legacy
We have no doubt that Hon. Nma Kolo will bring this same depth of experience, sound judgement and commitment to service into his renewed role, in support of Governor Bago’s efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and ensure broader representation for every zone, every community and every voice across Niger State.
As he assumes this significant responsibility once again, we join well-wishers across Niger State and beyond in praying for God’s continued guidance, sound health and strength for him as he serves. May this tenure be marked by impactful contributions to the peace, unity, and sustainable development of our dear State and may the next generation of leaders he continues to mentor carry his example forward for years to come.
Congratulations, Sir. Niger State and indeed Nigeria is richer for your continued service.
This tribute is issued on behalf of the Management and Staff of Global Human Capital & Energy Management Limited (GHCEML).
