Abuja Idoma Cultural Day Rekindles Unity Among Idoma People – Robton Education CEO

Ahiaba Douglas, Abuja

As Idoma sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, continue to express their satisfaction, admiration, and delight over the recently held Abuja Idoma Cultural Day celebration, an illustrious son of the Idoma nation based in Newcastle, United Kingdom, Honourable Robert Idoko, has also shared his thoughts on the memorable cultural outing that continues to generate widespread commendation.
The colourful event, held at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Garki, in the Central Business District of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Idoma people of Benue State and attracted a massive gathering of Idoma sons and daughters from across the country.

Speaking exclusively to journalists at the venue, Honourable Robert Idoko, Chief Executive Officer of Robton Education Agency, described the event as historic and culturally significant, expressing his excitement at being part of the epoch-making celebration.
According to him, the Abuja Idoma Cultural Day has strengthened unity, fostered togetherness, reunited families and friends, and rekindled the spirit of brotherhood among the Idoma people.

He commended the organisers for successfully hosting an event that drew an impressive turnout of Idoma sons and daughters in the nation’s capital. He further noted that the celebration would serve as a catalyst for socio-political awakening in Idoma land, stressing that the Idoma ethnic nationality has long been underrepresented in the socio-political affairs of Benue State and Nigeria.

Speaking on his contributions toward promoting unity among Idoma people in the United Kingdom, Honourable Idoko disclosed that he established a WhatsApp platform to facilitate regular communication among Idoma residents in the UK. He added that members also meet periodically to deliberate on issues affecting the welfare and progress of the Idoma community abroad.

Honourable Idoko further highlighted the activities of Robton Education Agency, a consultancy firm that provides educational and travel consultancy services, including visa application support. He revealed that the agency recently expanded its operations by opening branches in Abuja and Lagos.

As part of his commitment to giving back to his roots, he stated that the agency offers free consultancy services to Idoma sons and daughters seeking travel visa guidance. He also disclosed that it is company policy to prioritise the employment of qualified Idoma-speaking individuals, a move aimed at creating opportunities for his people while promoting the growth and development of the Idoma nation.

The Robton CEO further expressed optimism of the possibility of a more united Idoma Nation where the yearnings aspiration of people shall be realized.
