Acting Burser of Plateau State College of Health Technology, Zawan, Honoured with IBDFM Fellowship Award

The Acting Burser of Plateau State College of Health Technology, Zawan, Mrs. Bulus Elizabeth Matawal, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship Award of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM).
The award was presented alongside those of other distinguished Nigerians who have demonstrated exceptional records of service in both the public and private sectors during the Institute’s 89th Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD), Induction, and Investiture Ceremony for new members. The event, themed “Exploring the Role of Financial Managers in Business Turnaround Strategy,” was held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Conference Hall 2, Novare Central Mall, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
Speaking shortly after receiving the honour, Mrs. Matawal attributed the recognition to her unwavering commitment to professional growth, career advancement, and continuous personal development. She emphasized that these qualities are essential for achieving excellence in both the public and private sectors.
She stated that the Fellowship Award would further inspire her to uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, transparency, and responsibility in the discharge of her duties.
According to her, the Fellowship Award represents not only a significant professional achievement but also an ambassadorial responsibility to promote the ethics, principles, and best practices of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management.
Beyond the colourful ceremony, her induction and investiture as a Fellow of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM) stand as a strong affirmation of her status as a seasoned accountant, accomplished administrator, and finance professional. The recognition also acknowledges her valuable contributions to the advancement of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management, as well as her continued service as a respected professional in both the public and private sectors.
The honour further reinforces her reputation as a leading figure in the field of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management, reflecting her unwavering commitment to excellence, professionalism, ethical leadership, and outstanding public service.
A Fellow Certified National Accountant (FCNA) with the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Mrs. Bulus holds a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from the Plateau State Polytechnic, a Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Accounting from the Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos, a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the National Open University of Nigeria and a Master of Public Sector Accounting from the Nasarawa State University Keffi. Mrs. Bulus Elizabeth Matawal also studied at the University of Jos where she obtained a Diploma in Information Technology (Computer Accounting). She began her career as an Accountant at the Plateau State College of Health Technology, Zawan, in 2006. She was Internal Auditor (Head), Senior Accountant, 2006 – 2011; Salary Accountant (Head), Senior Accountant, 2011 – 2012; Internal Auditor (Head), Principal Accountant, 2012 – 2015; Salary, Pension and Gratuity Accountant (Head), Assistant Chief Accountant, 2015 – 2017; Budget Accountant (Head), Chief Accountant, 2018 – 2022 and Revenue Accountant (Head), Chief Accountant, 2022 – 2025. Mrs. Bulus was appointed as Acting Bursar, Plateau State College of Health Technology, Zawan, in June 2025, a Position she still occupies. An Accomplished Accountant and Financial Management Expert, Mrs. Bulus Elizabeth Matawal, FCNA, whose key skills include financial planning and budgeting, Institutional Financial Reporting, Auditing and Compliance, Public Sector Accounting and Public Sector Financial Regulations among others, has attended many conferences and workshops. She is happily married and blessed with a wonderful family.
