As Women from the Northern extraction of Nigeria Continue to applaud Jonathan Onipe, the Convener of Women In Arts, Firm And Fashion Convention (WAFFCON),2025, with the theme, “Northern Lights”, held at the Exhibition Pavilion, Area 10, Garki of the federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Saturday April 26th , 2025,an event that spotlighted the Contributions and efforts of Women of Northern origin in the Creative arts and as well as their Contributions to the Creative economy of Nigeria,Aisha Barde an International Development Expert has also lauded the efforts of Jonathan Onipe and his team.

In a message made available to our Correspondent, Aisha Barde noted that, the Convener and his team has done a good job by providing a platform to spotlights the Contributions of Northern Women in Arts, Firm and fashion, describing the initiative as encouraging and laudable.

She said the Women in Arts , Firm and fashion Convention, would also help to Change the negative stereotypes about northern women by some Nigerians who actually knew nothing about the Northern Women, but unfortunately, held an unpalatable and unpleasant views about Women of Northern extraction generally.

In her words, ” Some persons from other regions sees Women from the north as women without sophistication, people who should be confirned to a Corner, Women without the minutest touch of Civilization and westernization”, so, the Women In Arts, Firm and fashion Convention 2025, would help to disabuse such misconceptions.

While urging the Convener and Creatives at the Convention to Sustain the tempo,She also Called on the the elites and the Privilege Sons and Daughters of the region to support the initiative to inspire younger creatives towards the development of the region,even as she said the aftermath of the event would birth behavioral and Socio-cultural Change in the region.

Mrs Aisha Barde is an International Development Expert with over 15 years experience, in addition to vast knowledge in inclusive Program design, business development and Institutional Strengthening, and the use of Artificial intelligence for non-profits.Aisha Barde hails from Kastina State, Northwest Nigeria.
