ALLEGATIONS OF CORRUPTION AGAINST KOGI EX-GOVERNOR: CAN YOUTH WING WRITES EFCC CHAIRMAN, ADVICE HIM TO WORK WITH THE FEAR OF GOD AS A PASTOR.

The National Leadership of the Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has written an open letter to the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC, Pastor Olukoyede advising him to do his job without succumbing to external interference as a Christian and a pastor of Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) in the ongoing Media Allegations of Corruption and Trial of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State.

Reminding the EFCC chairman as the first Southern and Christian to head the Anti-Corruption Agency, YOWICAN enjoined Pastor Olukoyede not to allow himself to be used by some desperate politicians who does not like the face of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, thereby going the extra mile to submit frivolous petitions on Corruption against him.

In as much as we realize that it is the mandate of the Commission to prosecute corrupt Nigerians, YOWICAN concern as a body of Christ is to prevent your Agency from punishing Innocent Nigerians.

How can we describe a situation where the amended charges of corruption in the ongoing trial of some Kogi State officials was quickly made to accommodate Alhaji Yahaya Bello and was alleged to have stolen the sum of 80billion Naira in 2015 when he has not even assumed office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State

From the foregoing, we saw a desperate attempt by your Agency to call a good dog a bad name so as to hang it.

We encourage you to work with the fear of God to avoid being embarrassed from office like some of your predecessors.

Alhaji Yahaya Bello is a symbol of Religion tolerance. During his Tenure of office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State, an ultra Modern Chapel was built in Government House to enable Christian faithfuls to practice their religion without fear of intimidations. The worship center was first of it kind since the creation of Kogi State.

Going further, it is also on records that the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello shown the greatest respect and love for the Christian Community and this reflected in his Choice of the Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly. The three sensitive positions were occupied by christians.
