Amb. Gabriel Abinu Deepens Support for Elderly in Kogi, Reaffirms Lifelong Commitment to Humanitarian Service

Renowned philanthropist, Ambassador (Coach) Gabriel Abinu, has continued his empowerment initiative for elderly residents in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, providing financial support aimed at easing their daily needs.

The community-based intervention, which has now run consistently for four months, has drawn widespread commendation from beneficiaries and community leaders.

Speaking on Saturday after disbursing ₦20,000 each to dozens of elderly persons in Lokoja, Amb. Abinu who was represented by Shaibu Bello reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to uplifting vulnerable groups across the state.

“I am always elated to give back to my people,” he said. “Whatever I am doing today has no ulterior motive. This is purely for humanity, and I will continue this service until my last breath on earth.”

He stressed that true humanitarian service requires sacrifice and consistency, noting that the wellbeing of the elderly remains a priority for him.

“These elderly ones have served society in their youthful years. Supporting them now is not a favour it is a responsibility,”he added. “My humanitarian activities will continue in Kogi State and beyond. Stopping is not an option.”

Amb. Abinu also appealed to wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to complement government efforts in improving the living conditions of vulnerable citizens.

“Government alone cannot do it,” he emphasized. “They need our support so the vulnerable in society can feel the true dividends of governance at the grassroots.”

He highlighted some of his previous interventions, including full scholarships for students and the construction of boreholes to provide clean water to underserved communities.

“I supported my students with free education through my scholarship programme, and I provided boreholes to ensure access to potable water. I am always happy doing this, and I will not stop,” he said.

Beneficiaries at the event expressed gratitude for Abinu’s continuous support, describing him as “a rare gift to the community” and “a consistent helper to the aged.

The empowerment scheme is expected to continue in the coming months as part of Abinu’s broader humanitarian outreach across Kogi State.
