He averred that the signing of the anti-corruption bill into law by the present administration will have a meaningful impact in the struggle against corruption in Kogi State.

The activist explained that corruption has brought in low development, deprivation of fundamental Human Rights of citizens from their basic benefits, such as Health, infrastructure, education, employment, and welfare of the citizens generally.

According to the statement “Corruption have eaten deep into our society particularly among public service institutions in Kogi State in the past and is still ravaging Kogi State. The advocacy by civil society organizations for the creation of an Anti-corruption agency or institution in Kogi State is to bring positive results.

“The agency, will now complement the effort of the various Federal institutions fighting Corruption at various level in Nigeria. From our own end, as an organization, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR) that have been advocating and involved in the crusade of fighting corruption in Kogi State over a decade, we shall be willing to partner with the agency when established”

Miliki called on the citizens and particularly, the public service in the State to take note and leverage on this new initiative to minimize and reduce corruption in Kogi State, adding that, the Law is not a respecter of anybody.

He equally call on the Kogi State Governor to put the necessary framework and machinery in place for the proper implementation of this great law in the interest of Justice and development of Kogi State.

It could be recalled that Kogi State Governor had on Thursday signed into the law the anti-corruption bill alongside six other bills in the State.
