APC’S Durosinmi Meseko Hails Nigerian Workers on May Day, Reaffirms Party’s Commitment to Welfare
The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, has extended his warmest felicitations to Nigerian workers as they join the global community in celebrating the 2026 International Workers’ Day.
In a statement released today, Meseko described the Nigerian workforce as the “engine room of national development” and the “backbone of the country’s economy.” He lauded the resilience, patriotism, and dedication of laborers across both the public and private sectors.
Meseko emphasized that despite the evolving economic landscape, the spirit of the Nigerian worker remains undaunted.
“Today, we celebrate the men and women who wake up every day to build our roads, teach our children, heal the sick, and drive the wheels of industry. Your sacrifices are the primary reason our nation continues to progress,” Meseko stated.
Addressing the current economic realities, the APC chieftain reassured workers that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration remains laser-focused on improving the standard of living. He highlighted that the party is committed to:
Ensuring workers receive a fair and livable wage that reflects current economic shifts.
Strengthening policies that protect the dignity and safety of employees.
Expanding vocational and digital training to prepare the workforce for the future economy.
The Deputy National Publicity Secretary urged the organized labor unions to continue fostering a spirit of dialogue and partnership with the government. He noted that a harmonious relationship between the state and labor is essential for achieving the “Renewed Hope” agenda.
“As we celebrate this day, I urge all workers to remain steadfast and optimistic. The government is working tirelessly to ensure that the fruits of your labor translate into a more prosperous and equitable Nigeria for all,” he concluded.
Meseko wished all Nigerians a peaceful and restful May Day celebration.
