His remains were buried according to Islamic rites in Kano on Tuesday, October 5, 2026.

The late Alhaji Garba Lawan Ausaja was survived by three wives, including Hajiya Naja’atu Abdullahi, three children, as well as numerous relatives, siblings and associates in Kano and Gashua, Yobe State.

During a condolence visit to the bereaved family at Sharada Federal Housing Estate, Kano, the Head of Public Relations and Publicity of AD-COHST, Alhaji Abdullahi Usman, conveyed the condolences of Arc. Aminu Dabo and the entire college community.

In the condolence message, AD-COHST described the death as a painful loss and an act of Allah’s will, noting that the entire college community was deeply saddened by the news.

The institution also acknowledged the late Alhaji Garba Lawan Ausaja’s years of service to the nation as a senior police officer, as well as his contributions to his family, community and those around him.

According to the message, the deceased was remembered as a man who devoted part of his life to public service and family responsibilities and who remained a source of support to his immediate family and wider community.

The delegation prayed Allah SWT to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and illuminate his grave.
They further prayed for Allah to grant Hajiya Naja’atu Abdullahi, the children, relatives and other members of the bereaved family the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the loss.

The delegation also extended prayers and solidarity to the management, staff and students of SCOHST, recognising the close relationship and professional responsibilities shared by the two institutions within the health education sector.

Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, Hajiya Naja’atu Abdullahi, Provost of SCOHST, expressed profound appreciation to Arc. Aminu Dabo, the management, staff and students of AD-COHST for visiting the family and sharing in their grief at such a difficult moment.

She described the gesture as a demonstration of compassion, solidarity and institutional fellowship, saying the family was encouraged by the support and prayers offered during the period of mourning.

The condolence visit underscored the importance of standing with colleagues and members of the wider educational community during moments of bereavement, particularly when the loss involves a family member who played a significant role in the life of a respected educationist.

The AD-COHST community prayed that Allah SWT would continue to strengthen the family, preserve the legacy of the deceased and grant all those affected by the loss the patience to accept Allah’s decree.
May Allah SWT forgive Alhaji Garba Lawan Ausaja, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss. Amin.
