Aviation Minister, Barrister Festus Keyamo, Wins Honourable Minister of the Year Award

The Honourable Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barrister Festus Keyamo, SAN, has been named the winner of the Honourable Minister of the Year Award, 2025 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper. According to a press statement signed by the publisher and CEO, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Keyamo’s nomination was based on the recommendation of a team of experts who conducted an opinion poll.
The statement described Keyamo as one of the most vibrant and workaholic ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, citing his monumental achievements and reforms in the aviation sector. Some of his notable achievements include the rehabilitation of international airports, approval and award for the rehabilitation of Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, and the reopening of many routes to Nigeria.

The award will be presented during the 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja. The ceremony will feature a Red Carpet Ceremony, main event, and dinner program, with the theme “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.”
The occasion will also mark the launch of a ₦100 million fund for podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television, aimed at promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
The award ceremony promises to be a significant event, bringing together leaders and stakeholders to discuss important issues and celebrate excellence.
