BARAU MOBILISES KANO NORTH COUNCIL CHAIRMEN FOR 2027, DECLARES: ‘ONE PARTY, ONE TEAM, ONE DIRECTION’.

ABUJA — The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has intensified consultations with political stakeholders in Kano North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging greater unity, cooperation and coordinated efforts among leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Barau, who represents Kano North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, held a meeting with the chairmen of the 13 Local Government Areas that make up the senatorial district at his residence in Abuja.

The meeting, according to the participants, focused on the development of Kano North, strengthening cooperation among political leaders and preparations for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

Kano North Senatorial District comprises Bichi, Shanono, Bagwai, Danbatta, Makoda, Dawakin Tofa, Gabasawa, Gwarzo, Kabo, Tofa, Rimin Gado, Tsanyawa and Kunchi Local Government Areas.

The Deputy Senate President reportedly emphasised the importance of maintaining close working relationships between elected local government leaders, other stakeholders and the party structure, stressing that unity would be essential to pursuing the interests of the district.

He also called for a coordinated approach to political activities, with the local government chairmen expected to work together with other APC stakeholders to strengthen the party’s grassroots organisation across the senatorial district.

The meeting further provided an opportunity to discuss issues concerning the development of Kano North and ways of improving collaboration between political leaders at the local government, state and federal levels.

A major message from the meeting was the call for party unity and support for APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Senator Barau was quoted as telling the gathering that stakeholders must work collectively towards supporting the party’s candidates at the various levels of government.
The position attributed to him was that the political structure should operate with a common purpose — “One Party, One Team, One Direction: APC from top to bottom.”

He specifically referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, himself as the Senator representing Kano North, members of the House of Representatives and APC candidates for the Kano State House of Assembly, saying party stakeholders should remain united behind the party’s candidates.

For the APC leadership and supporters in Kano North, the meeting underscored the importance of grassroots mobilisation, internal coordination and sustained engagement with local political structures.
The gathering also demonstrated the strategic importance of the 13 local government areas within Kano North Senatorial District, particularly as political parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the next general elections.

The message emerging from Senator Barau’s meeting was therefore one of political coordination and organisational unity: one party, one team and one direction — with APC stakeholders urged to work together across the grassroots and leadership structures.
