Best Governor Award for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori: A Confirmation of the Unassailable Strides of the MORE Agenda, Says Hon. Comrade Francis Obule

As Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, received the prestigious This Day Newspaper,/Arise TV Best Governor of the Year Award on Monday, January 27th , 2025, Hon. Comrade Francis Obule, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Political Matters, has described the honor as a testament to the transformative impact of the governor’s visionary MORE Agenda.

In a statement issued on Tuesday , Hon. Obule extolled Governor Oborevwori’s administration for its unprecedented achievements across all sectors of governance. He asserted that the award is a national acknowledgment of the governor’s unassailable strides in delivering meaningful development, creating opportunities for all, initiating realistic reforms, and fostering enhanced peace and security across Delta State.

A Governor Leads by Action
Hon. Comrade Obule highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s leadership as exemplary, noting that his administration has prioritized the needs of the people, demonstrated transparency, and pursued a development-driven agenda.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has proven to be a leader with action, a man who matches his words with impactful deeds. The MORE Agenda has become a blueprint for effective governance, addressing critical challenges, and fostering growth across the state,” Obule stated.

Unmatched Achievements Across Key Sectors
Hon. Comrade Francis Obule provided an in-depth overview of Governor Oborevwori’s achievements under the MORE Agenda, which have earned him widespread accolades and recognition as a leading light in Nigeria’s governance landscape.

. Infrastructure Development
Governor Oborevwori’s administration has undertaken extensive infrastructural projects, including:

The construction of dual carriageways in Asaba, Warri, Ughelli, and Sapele.
Rehabilitation of rural roads to improve connectivity and boost economic activities in underserved communities.
Completion of strategic flyovers, drainage systems, and housing schemes to enhance urbanization and reduce flooding.
Youth and Women Empowerment
Through innovative initiatives, the administration has:

Trained over 20,000 youths and women in entrepreneurial skills under the Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Program (STEP) and Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Program (YAGEP).
Provided financial grants and business startup kits to enhance self-reliance and job creation.
Partnered with private investors to establish microcredit facilities for small and medium-scale enterprises.

“This award is a crowning glory for a governor who has devoted himself to the service of his people. It reflects the collective achievements of his team and the unwavering support of the good people of Delta State,” he added.

A Call for Continued Support
Hon. Obule urged Deltans to rally behind Governor Oborevwori as he continues to implement his visionary agenda for the state.

Obule maintained that those who are running from PDP to another party just because of stomach infrastructure, should be rejected by all Deltans, because they can never be trusted, they are running away because of their own selfish interest, not the interest of the state

He added that Governor Sheriff OBOREVWORI due to his laudable legacies will be remembered the whole of the old Midwest and Bendel state are still remembering Brigadier Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia.

“As we celebrate this well-deserved honor, let us renew our commitment to supporting Governor Oborevwori’s vision. Together, we can sustain the progress and ensure that every Deltan benefits from the dividends of democracy,” he concluded.
