Blueprint for Greatness: FUAHSE Sets Freshmen on Transformative Path
The 2025/2026 Academic journey for Freshmen of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE) began on a note of vision and responsibility as the Institution formally welcomed its new intakes during a well packaged Orientation Programme akine to the Culture of Excellence and quality known with the University.
Held on Thursday at the University Auditorium with the over one Thousand Five hundred Students, full of hopes and eagerness to excel.
The University Vice Chancellor, Prof John Emaimo in his address, delivered by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Cajethan U. Nwadinigwe, charged the freshmen to see their Admission as “not the destination, but the doorway” to a purposeful future.
Describing their entry into the University as holding a “blank cheque,” he challenged them to determine what legacy they would inscribe on it in the next 10 to 20 years.
He urged students to choose friendship wisely, warning that associations at this critical stage could “make or mar” their life’s blueprint. While acknowledging the freedom University life offers, he stressed that such liberty must be guided by responsibility, discipline, and adherence to Institutional rules.
FUAHSE, he affirmed, maintains zero tolerance for misconduct.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor encouraged active participation beyond the Classrooms—through research, Student Associations, Sports, Community service, and digital skills development—while reminding them that the rich Culture of Enugu forms an extension of their Education, ‘take advantage of it, he concluded.
He reassured Parents of the University’s commitment to holistic development and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister for Education, Hon Tunji Alausa, and Minister of State for Health, Dr Iziaq Salako for their roles in the Establishment and supervision of the institution.
The programme featured six critical and relevant Presentations covering key aspects of Students University life, including, good conduct, Campus Security, Health and wellness, Financial opportunities from Government and proper documentation at all times, Examination regulations, and Environmental Hygiene.
The Students in their various reactions declared that they are refreshed and confident with the new knowledge they acquired through the Orientation Programme and fully ready to work for excellent performance in their pursuit.
They commended the University Management for the smooth assimilation, documentation processes and the commitment of the Academic and Non Academic staff of the University since their arrival in the School.
The participatory Orientation activities concluded with a reassuring declaration by the Registrar of the University, Barr Chris Igbokwe, that the University Authorities will assist the Students to bring the best out of them through regular interactions throughout their stay in University. He advised the Students to make their years ahead productive, inspiring, and transformative learning in order to come out not only in flying colours, but as a refined Health Professional that is ready to take on the world.
