BREAKING: INEC Declares Adeleke Winner Of Osun Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Ademola Adeleke the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, while declaring the results in Osogbo, declared the Accord candidate, Ademola Adeleke, the winner of the Osun State governorship election with 511,067 votes. He beat the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes, and the ADC’s Najeem Salaam, who polled 17,180 votes.

Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who secured 444,815 votes.
The incumbent governor won by a margin of 66,252 votes.
African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam finished third with 17.180 votes, while the remaining political parties shared the other valid votes recorded in the election.
Adeleke won 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured the highest votes in the remaining 11 local government areas
INEC declared Adeleke elected after determining that he had received the highest number of votes and met the constitutional geographical-spread requirement.
The declaration followed the collation of results from the 30 local government areas at the state collation centre in Osogbo.
Adeleke, who first became governor after winning the 2022 election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, will now serve a second term under the Accord Party.
His victory marks the Accord Party’s first governorship election win in Osun State.
